I grew up in Macau and obtained my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. I did my Ph.D. in Physics at Caltech, where I studied electromechanics in the group of Prof. Keith Schwab. My research focused on the quantum properties of mechanical motion, as well as the development of superconducting electromechanical devices. In this research, we demonstrated backaction-evading measurement of a single mechanical quadrature below the standard quantum limit and generate quantum squeezed state of a massive mechanical object.
